The eminent Czech soprano Irena Troupov\u00e1 gained international renown through the historically-informed interpretation of early music. Since the 1990s, when she lived in Berlin, she has performed on stages throughout the whole of Europe, collaborating with the likes of Thomas Hengelbrock, Howard Arman, Joshua Rifkin, the ensemble Orpheon, etc.; in the Czech Republic also with Jaroslav T\u016fma, Barbara Willi, Petra Mat\u011bjov\u00e1, Monika Knoblochov\u00e1, Ensemble Tourbillon, Musica Florea, and many others. She gradually extended her scope to include Romantic and Modern vocal and operatic works. She has performed in concert series of the Prague Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Philharmonia, the philharmonic orchestras from Pilsen and Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9, and has been a frequent participant of festivals such as Prague Spring, Jan\u00e1\u010dek May. She took part in the internationally acclaimed recording of Bohuslav Martin\u016f\u2019s opera Le jour de bont\u00e9 (The Day of Charity) for Arco Diva. The same label released her interpretation of the complete songs of Viktor Ullmann (Schwer ist\u2019s, das Sch\u00f6ne zu lassen). In 2016 she recorded a newly discovered composition by W. A. Mozart for Czech Radio. She collaborates with modern music ensembles (Pavel \u0160najdr\u2019s Brno Contemporary Orchestra, BERG Orchestra, Prague Modern, Konvergence, etc.) and contemporary composer \u2013 Marek Kopelent, Jan Du\u0161ek, Peter Koeszeghy, Milo\u0161 \u0160t\u011bdro\u0148, Ji\u0159\u00ed Kade\u0159\u00e1bek, Roman Z. Nov\u00e1k, Ji\u0159\u00ed Teml, and others. She is also interested in the music of interwar authors (Schulhoff, von Hannenheim, Herschkowitz, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Besides her concert and opera activities, Irena Troupov\u00e1 teaches at the Jan\u00e1\u010dek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno and leads international singing courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
